Every year there is a celebration ... an award ceremony presented by The Scorpion Music Awards (The Okanagan Music Awards), that honors and acknowledges local bands, solo musicians covering all genres and styles. Kath 'in blue' - Walt Musekamp, Barry Lamb, John Keith (Doug Grant), Gerry Sholomenko and myself were nominated for 'best jazz artist and/or jazz band AND 'best blues artist and/or jazz band for the year 2007. We didn't win, but that's ok - the nomination was enough ... tells me that the people that enjoy our music took the time to vote and it made a difference - thank you.
